Fresh into college, Fermatta and two other music colleges proposed the production for an album that reimagined Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Students were invited to submit a rough demo showcasing the arrangement, along with a pitch deck with the vision and the collaboration ideas to bring musicians from other institutions to complete the track.
I submitted my arrangement for Baby Be Mine, inspired by the Big Band Jazz and the Latin Jazz, winning my spot as producer and performer in the album. Recordings of the definitive track followed, with several lockout days allocated to bring new musicians for the record, and finish overdubs and processing before sending the track out for mix and master.
The album was never officially released although most of the tracks being completed and ready for post production.
